Two More Rescued From Debris of The China Earthquake

Can’t believe what is happening to the world right now, so many disaster and virus occuring, sending my condolences to the loss in China Earthquake.

To my readers, please help those who are suffering, make some donation if you can, if not, spread the words.

I’m applying my marketing skill to help those people who lost their kin by spreading the words and other ways that contribute within my capability, hope this will add a great help to them. Glad to see that there are more and more people getting rescued everyday.

CHENGDU: A woman who survived on rainwater, and a man fed sweetened water, were yesterday pulled out of the rubble eight days after China’s earthquake, while hopes faded for others as the death toll topped 40,000.

The woman survived for nearly 200 hours by drinking the rainwater, while the man, Mr Ma Yuanjiang (above), was fed through a straw that rescuers inserted through the debris, state media reported.

Mr Ma was saved after a 30-hour dig that included chiselling through 10 slabs of cement, the state-run Xinhua news agency said.

Mr Ma was, surprisingly, able to speak, eat and drink small amounts as he was rushed to hospital, but his left forearm had to be amputated, it said.

DAMS EMPTIED TO CUT FLOOD RISK

CHENGDU: China has emptied some reservoirs and lowered water levels in others in the upper reaches of the Min River to reduce flood risks after dozens of dams were damaged by the powerful Sichuan quake.

Water levels at the huge Zipingpu reservoir, with a capacity of 1.1 billion cu m and a main source of irrigation for the Chengdu area, had been lowered, the Water Ministry said.

Meanwhile, civilian nuclear facilities and radioactive sites buried by the temblor were ’safe and controllable’, the state press said.

Thirty of the ‘radioactive’ sources had been recovered, while another two were located and awaiting transport to safe areas, Xinhua said, quoting Minister of Environmental Protection Zhou Shengxian.

No leaks had been discovered as of yesterday, said the Beijing Times, also citing Mr Zhou.
