Increase Your Site Traffic With Comments

In recent years, blogging has become an essential part of internet marketer for driving free targeted traffic. Part of it is because blogging allows you to communicate with each other building up relationship. There are numerous methods out there to drive free targeted traffic to your blog.

  • Ping your blog post to major blog directories, it’s all for SEO purposes
  • Commenting on other people’s blog gets you quite a fair bit of traffic depending on the ranking of the blog. The higher the rank, the more traffic you get.

These two ways are free and very effective for generating free targeted traffic.

Commenting doesn’t mean the traffic is targeted unless you do it the right way. Firstly you will need to find blogs that is related to your niche. By searching on blog directories will do so, technorati is one of the site that has a blog directory. Search for keywords that describe your niche in the directory.

The secret of getting free targeted traffic through comment lies here:

Be the first to comment (this is the most important key point to increase your site traffic) on popular post. It will defeat the purpose if you are not one of the first few to comment because readers will not read each and one of them. In fact, some of them do not read it. But if you’re the first, readers will definitely see your comment because it is smack right below the post.

The next step will be giving value in the comment. Make the comment interesting and valuable, this will create a curiosity for people to check out your website.

Always keep the comments relevant and make sure you are not out of point when you actually start commenting.

Now I’m going to touch on commenting on social website. Sign up with some of the most popular web2.0 site like MySpace and facebook if you do not have one. Repeat the same steps above, the only difference is you are now commenting on web2.0 site, it will not only get you free traffic but build up relationship with the user. Remember to invite them as friend before commenting.

This is a highly effective way of pointing one-way links towards your site and can drive a large number of free traffic to your website and it has a potential to increase your site’s SERPs (Search Engine Position). The key to this is to leverage on high traffic blog

Hi Marvin, Nice post, and I couldn’t resist following your advice and being the first commentator on it ;-)

One thing that I would add when working away on driving traffic to your site / blog is not to forget the importance of measuring your success. This can range from very simple and free techniques to utilising professional agencies like Metrica to provide a social media and indeed a media evaluation service. Metrica’s blog, Measurement Matters, has more info on CGM analytics and media analysis in general. Hope to see you there.

Cheers

Richard

I concur, if you can’t be number 1, you should try to be number 2 lol. Another thing to add to Richard’s comment is to make sure you leave a signature. The reader may want to hear more from the commentator. You signature gives them a chance to follow up.

Your blog should have some way of passing this information on to other readers so they may add it to there favorites.

Can you tell me where you got your comment box. I am having a hard time locating a free comment box.
